The International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby. Smoky dark fruits and Indian spices on the nose, complicated by notes of beef jerky, violet and musky herbs. Dense but light on its feet, showing a refreshingly bitter quality to its mineral-laced blackberry and cherry flavors. Gains sweetness with air and finishes with excellent clarity and spicy persistence. If you must drink this now give it at least an hour of air."

Fleurie Clos de la Roilette, Cuvée Tardive, Coudert 2009
Intens diep donker jeugdig rode kleur. In de neus schitterend donker fruit en duidelijk minerale tonen. De wijn bezit een heerlijk sap, fraaie rijpe tannines en een enorme intensiteit en verfijning. Een grootse Cru de Beaujolais die nu al onweerstaanbaar smaakt, maar het verdient om de nodige jaren te worden weggelegd zodat de wijn zich verder kan uitbouwen.

David Schildknecht: "Duperray’s 2007 Fleurie – pure Moriers – displays game and underbrush along with narcissus-like musky florality on the nose. Smoky black tea, meat stock, and a maritime mingling of salinity and alkalinity add further complexity on a palate whose ripe fresh black fruits come off as practically an afterthought. This relatively lean but profound Fleurie of only, exactly 12% alcohol (!) needs time in the air due to its still being a bit reduced, which Duperray attributes to his intentions that customers should keep hands off these 2007s for a bit longer, but which he also thinks is accentuated by his use of a specially selected, high-elevation-grown one-Euro “precautionary” cork."
