De appellation Nuits-Saint-Georges strekt zich uit over een smalle band van enkele kilometers en begint even ten zuiden van Vosne-Romanée. Karakterologisch kunnen de wijnen nogal verschillen. De akkers Aux Boudots, Richemonne en Murgers in het noorden leveren wijnen die sterk aan een Vosne-Romanée doen denken. Verder naar het zuiden worden wijnen ruiger en krachtiger met veel structuur en tannines. In tegenstelling tot de meeste andere gemeentes herbergt Nuits-Saint-Georges geen Grand Crus, maar algemeen beschouwd men de akker Les Saint-Georges als primus inter pares. Topproducenten van Nuits-Saint-Georges wijnen zijn Robert Chevillon, Henri Gouges, Sylvain Cathiard, Méo-Camuzet, Perrot-Minot en Jean Grivot.

Fantasische Nuits-Saint-Georges Villages afkomstig van zeer oude stokken (60+jaar). Burghound: "A completely different nose offers up notes of plum, humus and intense soil tones that also characterize the rich, round and utterly delicious middle weight flavors that possess good depth on the solidly persistent finish. The tannins are riper than in the Vosne and with no dryness".

John Gilman: "Whereas all of the previous village wines have been négociant bottlings, this and the Vosne AC are the domaine’s own fruit. The result is a wine that is deeper, more structured and a bit less ripe than the village wines made from purchased fruit. The nose is a fine, reserved blend of black cherries, dark berries, raw cocoa, a bit of bonfire, espresso, soil tones and spicy oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very minerally, with ripe tannins, fine focus and grip and a very long, fairly structured finishthat closes with a nice note of bitter chocolate. Good juice and a bit less ripely buxom than the other village wines to this point. 2016-2035. 90+."

De 1er Cru Aux Boudots ligt op de grens met de gemeente Vosne-Romanée direct naast de akker Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Malconsorts. De stokken zijn gemiddeld zo’n 60 jaar oud. Burghound: In 2008, at least at this early stage, this chameleonesque terroir is more Vosne than Nuits with a wonderfully layered and distinctly spicy nose of blue and black pinot fruit trimmed in evident wood notes that introduces rich, full, supple and palate coating medium-bodied flavors that possess plenty of mid-palate extract that buffers the ripe structural elements. This is a relatively big and powerful '08 with real volume. Outstanding!”

De 1er Cru Aux Boudots ligt op de grens van de gemeenten Vosne-Romanée en Nuits-Saint-Georges. Karakterologisch lijkt hij dan ook sterk op een wijn uit Vosne. De stokken zijn hier bijzonder oud (gemiddelde leeftijd boven de 60 jaar) en geven een geweldige, onweerstaanbare en grootse wijn. De Aux Boudots 2006 is uitzonderlijk geslaagd. Bourgoge-expert Sarah Marsh selecteerde deze wijn bij haar tot tien van beste rode Bourgognes oogtsjaar 2006
