Burghound: "A fresh and bright nose of primarily red pinot fruit introduces mildly bitter and distinctly short flavors. Given the character of the vintage, I suspect that the recent racking and associated sulfuring may explain why this appears seriously out of sorts. Benefit of the doubt offered."

Burghound: "(from a .76 ha parcel, which is about 30% of the total climat). A ripe and toasty yet relatively elegant nose of fresh red currants, earth and spice hints is followed by rich, supple and very round medium-bodied flavors that possess a seductive texture on the delicious and impressively long finish. This is built to age but there is so much sap that it will be approachable young. 92/2021+"

Burghound: "(80% new oak). Noticeable wood toast still fights a bit with the otherwise solidly complex and earthy red berry fruit nose that precedes supple, round and very generous medium-bodied flavors that are remarkably sweet and while the mid-palate is accessible, this overtly robust and muscular effort manages to be a bit firmer than the Echézeaux. A big and chewy large-scaled effort that is also built to age. 93/2024+"

Richebourg Grand Cru, Anne Gros 2009
Burghound: "(from a .6 ha parcel and 100% new oak). Here too there is noticeable wood influence but it’s less obvious and does not really interfere with the transparency of the spicy nose of red currants, blue berries and cassis that is cool and restrained. There is outstanding intensity to the mineral-driven big-bodied flavors that are both slightly tighter but notably finer than those of the Clos de Vougeot, not to mention more serious and longer with notably less of the overt sweetness. While certainly a big and muscular effort, it is actually quite refined and should be exceptional in time. 95/2024+"
