Fleurie Clos de la Roilette, Coudert 2010
The wine Advocare: "Soothing in texture yet refreshing in finish, it will be a delight over at least the next couple of years. Coudert's 2010 Fleurie - what he refers to, but does not label as his "cuvee classique," and in this instance bottled already in February, 2011 - delivers a succulently stimulating abundance of freshly ripe dark berries, licorice, and nut oils tinged with nutmeg as well as with smoky suggestions of peat and tobacco familiar from wines of this property. This is another of those 2010s managing to soothe texturally while retaining a brightness and tart-edged cut that reflect the firm, late-ripened fruit of this vintage. Look for this long, handsome Fleurie to perform well for at least the next 2-3 years."

Fleurie Clos de la Roilette, Cuvée Tardive, Coudert 2010
Intens diep donker jeugdig rode kleur. In de neus schitterend donker fruit en duidelijk minerale tonen. De wijn bezit een heerlijk sap, fraaie rijpe tannines en een enorme intensiteit en verfijning. Een grootse Cru de Beaujolais die nu al onweerstaanbaar smaakt, maar het verdient om de nodige jaren te worden weggelegd zodat de wijn zich verder kan uitbouwen.

Het betreft hier een selectie van de oudste stokken (sommige zelfs tegen de honderd jaar aan). De wijn kreeg een opvoeding op houten vaatjes (Francois Frères). Een fantastische Morgon.

De wijnen voor deze cuvée zijn afkomstig van een perceel aan de oostkant van de voet van de Côte du Py. Dit bijzondere terroir bezit een bodem die rijk is aan klei en ijzeroxide. De wijn kreeg zijn opvoeding op houten vaten (vier in totaal) die eerder gebruikt zijn voor de Romanée Saint-Vivant van DRC. Enorm intense en verfijnde wijn.

De wijnen voor deze cuvée zijn afkomstig van een perceel aan de oostkant van de voet van de Côte du Py. Dit bijzondere terroir bezit een bodem die rijk is aan klei en ijzeroxide. De wijn kreeg zijn opvoeding op houten vaten (vier in totaal) die eerder gebruikt zijn voor de Romanée Saint-Vivant van DRC. Enorm intense en verfijnde wijn. The Wine Advocate: “Smoky evocations of black tea and peat rise from the glass of pre-assembled Burgaud 2010 Morgon Cote de Py Javernieres, along with scents of ripe, fresh blackberry and dark cherry. Suggestions of roasted red meats rise on the substantial yet bright palate to accompany the smoked-tinged dark berries toward a finish of cut, pungency, and considerable albeit fine tanninity, underlain by a stony cantus firmus and tinctured with iodine. This formidably concentrated and structured, even somewhat somber cru will need at least a couple of years in bottle to reveal its true potential and ought to be worth following for at least six years. 91-92+”

Morgon Côte du Py, Cuvée James, Jean Marc Burgaud 2010
De cuvee James is afkomstig van een klein perceel op de top (vlak bij het kruis) van de Côte du Py. De wijngaard heeft een zuidelijke expositie en geeft een enorm krachtige en rijke wijn. De opbrengst beslaat slechts enkele vaatjes en de wijn wordt alleen in grote jaren uitgebracht. Een imponerende wijn die geweldig kan ouderen. The wine advocate: “Tasted as a pre-assemblage (based on the provisional selection of seven barriques) Burgaud’s 2010 Morgon Cote de Py James – once again, issuing from a single high-altitude parcel of 45 year old vines – delivers ripe cassis and blackberry mingled with rose hip and black pepper on a strikingly aromatic and richly-concentrated, bright, mouthwateringly saline, and substantially tannic palate. The sense of crushed stone is stronger here than in its Javernieres and Reserve siblings, and the peppery bite accentuates the influence of tannin on the finish, which grips but certainly makes no concessions to easy drinking or charm. Even more so than in the case of the Javernieres, one wants to see how this evolves over the first couple of years in bottle to assess its ultimate potential. 91-92+”
